In the year of 1979 (36 years ago), I painted the above painting just because I have such a love and passion for music. Later that painting went to live with somebody else, and I had not seen it until the owner found me recently and asked if I would restore this old painting that she loves so much.
First of all, it's a joy that somebody wants my paintings, and secondly, that they would search for me to restore an old painting. It truly is my passion to create, and revive things around me. I recently was bored with my art studio stools, and after one of my granddaughter's needed an art project for high school (she painted the word "Hope" on the stool), she inspired me with her artwork, so I painted the other stools (see photo). Now I am enjoying my studio with more creativity and color all around.
I love exploring the new art materials that are available today. When I painted this music painting (pictured above), it was done with traditional oil paints such as Winsor Newton. Today, I use Genesis Heat-Set Oils which is a whole new technique and I love the experience of the Genesis. My passion is also to create with digital paintings.
The McKinney Art Club has a showing March 20-22nd at the McKinney IMAP (across the First United Methodist Church). I will display two of my works during that time, and I'd love for you to come and enjoy the arts!
Watch for more paintings coming soon and sign up for my E-Arts news that you can receive once a month by email. It will be good information for the upcoming art events, practical tips and techniques.
Until next time...

Author & Artist
From the time as a small girl, I have always admired artwork. My passion is to live for my Lord Jesus Christ, to glorify Him in all that I do. Whether in ministry, the writing and publishing industry, or in the arts, I live to please Him.
