First, I want to say Happy New Year to each one of my friends, and family! 2016 is going to be a great year, and I'm excited that it has arrived!
Secondly, I always start the New Year out with prayer and fasting, whether I do it for 14 days, 21 days, or however the Lord leads me. This year I am doing the Daniel Fast for 21 days; that's veggies and water. I am not doing it to lose weight although you will if you do the Daniel Fast. I am doing it because I am so hungry for more of God. I share this information with you because yesterday my daughter, Judy, shared a photo on FaceBook of the Mason Jar Salads which I have never heard of, and it's great to do during my Daniel Fast, or any time. So, I want to share this with you.
7 Mason Jar Salads
(One for every day of the week)
1. Put your favorite salad dressing in the bottom of each jar.
2. Next, put hard veggies (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, etc)
3. Then, put soft veggies (lettuce, tomato, etc)
4. Add proteins of the day (egg, etc)
Place your jars in your fridge until you are ready to eat. They will keep all week. When you are ready to eat your salad, just turn the jar upside down for a little bit so the dressing will coat all over your salad. And it's okay to shake your jar just a bit.
